PASA’s Nigels, The Annual Procurement in Practice Awards, hosted in honour of its founder Nigel Wardropper are now open for submissions.
The illustrious 2023 winners will be announced at the region’s most influential procurement event, Premier ConfeX on 18-19 October 2023, at Flemington Racecourse Conference Centre, Melbourne.
Established after Nigel’s passing in 2020, the awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of procurement professionals in Australasia.
New awards format for 2023
This year’s awards categories include two gongs sponsored by GEP, the Procurement Stakeholder Alignment Award, acknowledging the alignment of value delivery with organisational priorities, and the Procurement Value Generation Tracking Award, which focuses on measuring and reporting value to stakeholders, these categories cover a wide range of domains.
Additionally, PASA’s own Most Improved Procurement Team Award celebrates teams that have shown significant growth and development in their capabilities, whether through people, process, technology, strategic initiatives, or exceptional leadership.
Competition expected to be fierce
PASA Managing Director Lesley Wardropper said due to the amazing response for the 2022 awards, the 2023 nomination process had been opened earlier.
Lesley said The Nigels were growing in prominence for the procurement profession.
“This annual awards ceremony is a testament to Nigel’s passion for recognising and applauding the best in the industry and motivating procurement to reach new heights of excellence,” Lesley said.
“Nigel dedicated his life to advancing the industry and inspiring others to strive for greatness. To carry forward his legacy, the Nigels Awards have been enhanced this year to celebrate and honour exceptional professionals and organisations that have made remarkable contributions to the field.”
PASA CEO Jonathan Dutton thanked the judging panel and urged procurement teams from across the region to get their submissions in and put their achievements up in lights.
“These awards are a celebration of the procurement profession as voted on, in-person, by the profession at PASA’s Annual Conference, Premier ConfeX,” Jonathan said.
“The unique format allows for learnings to be shared by way of the finalists presenting case studies for the audience to then vote on their preferred choice.”
Jonathan said PASA was putting out the call to the profession to make this the best awards ceremony yet.
“Share your outstanding achievements and nominate your team deserving of recognition and celebrating excellence in procurement,” he said.
