Feedback from across the global supply chain is being welcomed once again for the 15th Annual State of Flux Supplier Management Survey with the theme of “Extended Enterprise”.

The survey for the benchmark research closes on July 1 2023 and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Participants receive a benchmark based on industry peers and best practice model free.

Alan Day, Chairman and Founder at State of Flux, says the survey aims to help organisations improve the value they obtain from their supplier relationships by considering how they can best manage their suppliers as part of their extended enterprise.

“In today’s challenging economic climate, the extended enterprise plays a crucial role in supplier management. A well-managed extended enterprise allows businesses to achieve greater agility, reduce costs, and gain a competitive advantage,” Alan said.

“Participating in our survey is an opportunity for organisations to assess their supplier management practices, benchmark against industry peers and best practices, and identify areas for improvement. It is also a chance to contribute to the thought leadership in this area, and we look forward to sharing the results with participants.”

Building Resilience was the theme of the 2022 survey

It found three-quarters of organisations in the Asia Pacific region have highlighted labour shortages as the common cause of supply chain disruption in the previous 12 months.

The research found 76% of respondents said a shortage of workers was delaying manufacturing or delivery of services.

Other findings included:

  • 55% of organisations reported major challenges in forecasting and demand planning
  • 60% of organisations increased engagement with suppliers, the most widely reported mitigating action that helps counter supply chain disruption.
