While many organizations already use blockchain, the scope of that usage is still somewhat limited. Web3 advocates, tech professionals and general forward-thinkers have dozens of ideas concerning blockchain’s future growth and uses. In this article, we identify and explain some of the most compelling theoretical use cases for blockchain in procurement. These ‘theories’ may be in the testing phase, the planning phase or a bit further out in terms of development, but some of the ideas that may seem outlandish today are sure to impact the procurement, finance and supply chain technology sector in the years to come.
