Before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, not all suite providers cared to strengthen their offerings by automating their accounts payable processes like e-invoicing and payment processing to the point of being competitive. This has changed. Now we see suite providers like Ivalua investing heavily in these capabilities and competing head-to-head with suite providers like Coupa, which started its journey a bit earlier. Both Ivalua and Coupa primarily compete in complex use cases within a large, global enterprise environment.

But what exactly differentiates the two vendors, and how should each one’s relative strengths factor into customer shortlist creation and ultimate selection?

Read this unfiltered SolutionMap results analysis from our Fall 2022 dataset to find out. In this Spend Matters PRO post, we’ll give readers insights from our detailed AP Automation analysis of Coupa and Ivalua and we’ll comment on each one’s relative strengths in a head-to-head comparison.

Spend Matters head-to-head columns share the insights of each fall and spring SolutionMap update. Subscribers to our PRO analyst content and SolutionMap Insider content can read the head-to-head columns, which provide comparative cuts of SolutionMap benchmark data for two solutions. For each column, we provide comparisons against the benchmarks, comparative scoring of vendors across dozens of functional requirements, and our analysts’ take on how each solution holds up in the competitive ring.
