SAP Ariba and Oracle — the subjects of today’s head-to-head analysis — are invoice-to-pay (I2P) solution providers with a global presence. We know these solutions’ capabilities from doing demos, evaluating their functionalities and reviewing customer feedback for our Spend Matters SolutionMap vendor rankings.

While both providers are much more than just an AP automation solution, this H2H analysis will focus on just the following capabilities: invoicing (capturing/digitization, validations and approvals, supplier onboarding and invoice collaboration, invoice compliance), payments (payment processing, p-cards), financing (dynamic discounting/SCF), platform (integration, configurability, globalization), supplier network (or portal) and services (implementation).

SAP Ariba and Oracle exceed the functional benchmark in every AP Automation function and compete neck-and-neck in many of them. Although Oracle delivers higher scores in the majority of categories, Ariba counters by both outdoing Oracle in certain areas and earning overall better customer feedback scores.

Join us in this unfiltered analysis from our SolutionMap data.

Spend Matters head-to-head columns share the insights of each fall and spring SolutionMap update. Subscribers to our PRO analyst content and SolutionMap Insider content can read the head-to-head columns, which provide comparative cuts of SolutionMap benchmark data for two solutions. For each column, we provide comparisons against the benchmarks, comparative scoring of vendors across dozens of functional requirements and our analysts’ take on how each solution holds up in the competitive ring.
