The bar for excellence in procurement has been set even higher for 2023 by The Nigels award winners recognised at PASA’s Premier Confex in Melbourne.
The region’s coveted procurement awards, named in memory of PASA founder Nigel Wardropper, are the only one of their kind to be voted on live by the peers in the audience after finalists present case studies on their project.
It was a double for New Zealand, with two of the three Nigels gongs heading ‘over the ditch.’
The Most Improved Procurement Team of the Year went to Vodafone New Zealand, while The New Zealand Government’s Ministry of Education took home the Procurement Data Intelligence Award.
The third and final award was won by South Australia Health which took out the Supply Chain Resilience Award.
“Rajat Sarna, Chief Procurement Officer at Vodafone New Zealand said: “It is great honour to have won the Award for “The Most Improved Procurement Team of the Year 2022” at PASA Awards in Melbourne. Well done Vodafone New Zealand Procurement team!”
Andrea Andrews, Executive Director Procurement and Supply Chain/Chief Procurement Officer at SA Health, said she was proud of the team for clinching the win after a week of rehersals leading into the presentations.
“I am so proud of the team. Excellent work!” Andrea commented on the Linkedin showreel, viewed by more than 2000 people.
Paul Rogers, a member of the judging panel for the 2022 Nigels, said the list of entrants this year was extremely competitive, highlighting exceptional examples of excellence in procurement.
“The quality of entrants was exceptional and well done to the winners,” he said.
“I think the presentations were a real point of difference and shows what can be done.”
