There’s just 30 days to go until the curtain rises on Procurement and Supply Australasia’s Annual Procurement Conference – Premier Confex 2022 – live and in-person in Melbourne.

Renowned Columnist Robert Gottliebsen, a 50-year commentator on business and investment in Australia, kicks off day one of the conference on October 12.

Robert writes daily commentary for The Australian’s digital  and print publications plus monthly for the Eureka Report.

There’s more than a dozen other keynote speakers locked in to take the stage at the Flemington Racecourse Conference Centre.

Adding to this, another drawcard is the ‘THE NIGELS’ procurement in practice excellence awards – with nominations till being accepted. Submit your nomination easily online in just two steps.

Winning a PASA Award is a prestigious recognition of best practice procurement excellence.

What people said about PASA’s recent conference

Why it’s all different now

The 2022 programme has been shaped on the most relevant topics facing procurement professionals under the theme of “Why it’s all different now”.

This is the 10th annual instalment PASA’s Premier Confex will examine the three biggest challenges facing procurement right now – growing ESG questions, the beast of inflation and the challenge of de-globalisation.

High inflation was declared a  “scourge,” Reserve Bank chief Philip Lowe commented last week.

After four rate rises of half a percentage point each. Procurement and supply-chain functions are having to re-evaluate how they can enhance resiliency in their business.

If inflation is soaring in more advanced economies, is it possible to source more aggressively from other countries less affected by inflation?
