Nominations have been opened for the Nigels, the Procurement Excellence Awards, to be presented at Procurement and Supply Australasia’s (PASA’s) Annual Conference, Premier ConFex 2022.
Applications are invited, with just 10 weeks to go until the winners are showcased at the most anticipated procurement event, 12-13 October 2022 at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse Conference Centre.
There are three categories celebrating procurement excellence:
- The Procurement Supply Chain Resilience Award 2022 – sponsored by GEP
- The Procurement Procurement Data Intelligence Award 2022 – sponsored by GEP
- The Most Improved Procurement Team 2022
It’s been a year since the Procurement Excellence Awards were rebranded as The Nigles in memory of the founder of PASA, Nigel Wardropper, who died suddenly just prior to ConFEX in October 2020.
The 10th annual PASA Premier ConFEX 2022 carries the theme ‘Why it’s all different now’. Competition among the categories is set to be hot with the impacts of COVID unlocking innovation and excellence for procurement throughout Australasia in many approaches.
Entrants can submit applications online by close of business AEST 16 September 2022.
PASA CEO Jonathan Dutton said the entrants for the Nigels would get the chance to pitch their case study to the live audience at Flemington.
“Shortlisted entrants in each category get to present their 10 minute CASE STUDY submissions live to the audience – who get to vote for the winner in each category on the conference,” Jonathan said.
Global consulting and procurement software firm GEP, is sponsoring two of the awards. The most prestigious gong, ‘The most Improved Procurement Team 2022’, will be presented by Lesley Wardropper, Nigel’s wife, PASA owner.
“Winning a PASA Award is a prestigious recognition of procurement excellence,” Lesley said.
“Not only are the winners judged against their peers’ efforts in competition, but also against a minimum standard for excellence defined by our esteemed judging panel of procurement experts. This year we’ve partnered with the Heart Foundation for the donation of entry fees.”
Nigel Wardropper always took a personal hand in the PASA awards process, the presentations and the shortlisting of the excellence awards. “He cared that procurement as a subject constantly moved forward – that it was innovative, practical and, most of all, achieved real results,” Jonathan said.
Entries for the Nigels must be received by close of business AEST on Friday 16th September 2022. Contact: thenigels@pasa.net.au
