Excitement at Spend Matters HQ today as our own VP of Research, Nick Heinzmann, is nominated as a Rising Star finalist in the Sourcing Industry Group’s (SIG) 2022 Future of Sourcing Awards.
These annual awards recognize organizations and individuals that are transforming, leading and innovating in categories critical to the sourcing, procurement and supply industry.
Among the awards are team categories and individual categories. Our analyst and head of research has become a finalist for the individual Rising Star Award, which recognizes people who are relatively new to the industry yet demonstrate outstanding thought leadership and expertise, and are expected to make a lasting impact.
Dawn Tiura, President and CEO of SIG said:
“This past year, procurement and sourcing teams have dealt with some of the most difficult challenges this industry has ever seen. The Future of Sourcing Awards are a recognition of the talent and innovation that has helped the sourcing and procurement industries overcome disruption and excel amidst rising inflation and risk. We’re looking forward to honoring these organizations and individuals for their tremendous achievements this past year, and to celebrate what they have in store for the future,” — so we couldn’t be more proud of Nick for being honored with this nomination.
Nick started life at Spend Matters within our publishing department as an Editor of our procurement- and supply-chain-related research, opinion and thought leadership content. He quickly transferred his knowledge and skills to become an associate analyst specializing in CLM and emerging and niche vendors within the procurement technology sector. He now heads up the Spend Matters analyst team and collaboratively sets our strategic research agenda.
Our founder and CEO Jason Busch commented:
“Nick Heinzmann has proven himself not only a subject matter expert in key emerging technology areas such as contract lifecycle management, supplier management and ESG/CSR, but has played an invaluable role in guiding the overall Spend Matters research agenda and overseeing a fast-growing team of analysts.”
Spend Matters Chief Strategy Officer Sheena Smith, who sits on SIG’s advisory board, says:
“It’s been such a pleasure to watch Nick bring his unique way of simultaneously seeing the whole picture and incredible detail to Spend Matters. His approach and leadership will materially change what’s possible for procurement, finance and supply chain technical due diligence, selection and implementation. I can’t wait to attend the SIG Summit with him later this fall!”
The awards will take place at SIG’s Global Executive Summit in Rancho Mirage, California on October 19, 2022, where Spend Matters will also be unveiling our annual ‘50 Providers to Know’ and ‘50 Providers to Watch’ lists which recognize the best-in-class and fast-rising companies in the procurement and supply chain market.
Spend Matters congratulates all finalists in all categories, and we look forward to seeing many of our readers, partners and customers at the event to take part in a celebration of industry recognition and achievement.
